Amirali Golpira

Amirali graduated Magna Cum Laude from York University in 2017 with a B.A. (Hons.) and obtained an M.A. degree before entering law school. With a passion for advocacy, he completed the J.D. program at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2021, specializing in litigation and dispute resolution in addition to participating in and judging various mooting competitions. Amirali was called to the Ontario Bar in 2022.

Prior to joining Laxton Glass LLP in 2022, Amirali articled at a personal injury firm where he gained insight on handling first and third-party disputes. He is developing a diverse practice encompassing a wide range of insurance litigation, including statutory accident benefits, bodily injury, coverage, property damage, and subrogation. Amirali has successfully argued motions before the Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, and the Licence Appeal Tribunal.

Amirali believes the majority of matters in litigation boil down to a narrow set of issues. He appreciates the value of early settlements but adopts a fearless yet empathetic approach when he needs to be in court.

Amirali is fluent in Farsi, and in his spare time, he is either working on cars or discovering Toronto’s diverse dining scene.
