Emily graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in 2006 and received her Juris Doctor, Dean's List, in 2009 from Queen's University.

In 2009 she commenced her articles at a downtown Toronto firm where she gained experience in various areas of litigation, including insurance defence. She is a member of Canadian Defence Lawyers. Emily joined Laxton Glass as an associate after her call to the bar in 2010.

In her spare time Emily enjoys baking, dancing, and indoor rock climbing.
