Vance was called to the Bar in 1985 and has practiced exclusively in the area of insurance disputes since that time.

Vance provides his services as a mediator in all areas of insurance, including tort, statutory accident benefits and long term disability. He also acts as a private arbitrator in disputes between insurers involving priority and loss transfer claims.

Vance has conducted many trials in front of juries and judges throughout the province. He has appeared before the Court of Appeal for Ontario on a number of occasions.

Vance is a Chartered Mediator (designated by the ADR Institute of Canada). He has been identified by the Best Lawyers of Canada directory as a leading practitioner in insurance law. He is a member of the Advocates' Society, the Canadian Defence Lawyers, the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto, the Toronto Lawyers' Association and the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations. Vance currently acts as counsel to the firm.

Vance's passions over and above his wife and three children are skiing, golf and a keen appreciation of music.
