Alvan graduated from the University of Toronto majoring in Criminology and Sociology before completing his master's in criminology. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2024. During law school, Alvan volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and served as Vice Chair of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers.

Prior to joining Laxton Glass, Alvan articled with a prominent national insurance company, where he gained valuable experience in insurance defence. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2025 and subsequently joined the firm as an associate. Alvan has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and has assisted in the litigation of tort and statutory accident benefits matters, including first and third party claims, disputes between insurers, construction negligence, professional negligence, and property damage claims.

Outside of the office, Alvan enjoys running, training in martial arts, playing soccer, and wondering why his hobbies all require ice packs.
